Takachiho Gorge, where the Japanese God first landed on earth..

ย Last May I had a chance to visit Miyazaki Prefecture in Kyushu island of Japan. Amongst its touristic destination is Takachiho gorge. The gorge is believed to be the place where the first God in Japanese mythology landed on earth, sent by his mother from heaven to rule Japan. His name is Ninigi no mikoto. It took five hours driving from Aoshima Beach Hotel, where we stayed, to the gorge. Along the way we were spoiled by the scenic mountaineous landscape and cool spring breeze. The local authority in Takachiho provides 30 minute self-boat ride to enjoy the gorge up-close. I recommend this place for anyone visiting Miyazaki. There are other interesting places as side trip from Takachiho. Guess I’ll post later about them ๐Ÿ™‚ImageImageImage
